The Seattle Times new garden column: At Home In The Garden
I recently had a lovely conversation with garden and lifestyle writer Erica Browne Grivas for a piece she has been working on for The Seattle Times new garden column , At Home In The Garden , about annual cut-flower gardening in the Pacific Northwest .
The article comes out in the June 7th edition.
We talked about Matt's and my favorite annuals for summer season bouquet making, growing cut flower gardens in large containers on patios and why growing your own cutflower garden is so essential.
Erica and I could've talked on the phone for hours, but each of us had lots of work to do so we made the most of the interview time by talking fast, finishing each other's sentences and me doing my best not to interrupt her train of thought as she tried to keep me on track.
I'd already warned her to keep me on a tight leash because my mouth goes faster than my brain when it comes to gardening, design, things I love, things I wish I loved. . .
I'm looking forward to seeing how she took the cascade of offerings from my annual flower obsessed brain and distilled it down!

Yay! Lots of inspiring garden writing to read on a rainy day when you just can't muster up the energy to go pull weeds or battle the bindweed vines that threaten to envelope your garden.

It was all about the hot pinks, carmine, burnt orange and dark purples, with a few dashes of pale blue and lime green thrown in.
