FAQ

  • Thank you so much for your interest in Langley Fine Gardens. Please note at this time we are closed to the public, with the exception of our annual U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and Cottage.

Please be aware, that there are only the three of us working here in the greenhouses, making wholesale deliveries, running the farm, fixing broken things, and doing all the office work.

It is not always possible during the hectic work season of December through July to respond to inquiries about our plants. Thank you for your understanding.

Please visit our Hello or Plants page for a list of retailers who carry our plants.

We do our best to make weekly plant delivery updates on our Facebook page or you can sign up to receive weekly emails during our delivery season, which is March - June.

  • No, we do not, but please check our Plants Page for a list of our nursery plant retailers who do offer our plants from March to June each season.

Our farm does welcome visitors for 6-7 weeks each autumn for our U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Cottage full of winter squash, gourds and specialty-colored pumpkins.

  • If you have asked the retailer about our plants and they don't have an answer for you, go to our Facebook page and ask a public question on our most recent post ( no direct messages, please ) so that your question doesn't get lost. That way I will see it and can answer you. If you are looking for a plant and have a question, so do many other gardeners. You will be helping many people by asking!

We are not a Garden Answer Service though, and can only answer questions about specific plants that we grow and when they will be available from our retailers.

  • We no longer have employees as our business heads towards the 30-year mark.

The retailers we work with, in most cases, we have delivered to for nearly three decades and we love our relationship with the owners and their employees.

We also have found a very workable plant delivery commute that generally begins on Vashon, then a ferry to Bainbridge, from there to north Seattle on the ferry, then down to Tacoma on Interstate-5, and continuing on down to Portland, Oregon, and then back on the interstate to Vashon by ferry boat.

Whew! What a drive for Matthew. It takes two or three days a week of driving to make all of our deliveries.

While he is gone, it's just us other two family members doing everything else here. Many months of 100+ hours a week of work for all of us. Good thing we love our jobs and working with the plants.

Please do consider branching out from your regular shopping area and have a great plant shopping experience with one of our 10 retailers, including Vashon's own Thriftway grocery store where we keep a very large selection of our plants from March to June each year.

  • At this point, no, but that could change and I will make sure I let everyone know so be sure and sign up for our email newsletter at the bottom of the page.
